The truth about your laptop battery
Health, power draw, what's draining it, and how long it will really last — shown clearly, computed on your own PC, with no account and no made-up numbers.
It never guesses and calls it a fact. Every value is labelled Measured read from the hardware, Calculated derived with a disclosed method, Estimated a documented, versioned model, or Unavailable — the app says so and substitutes nothing.
What it shows you
Nine screens, all driven by what your machine actually reports.
Battery health
Design vs full-charge capacity, a 0–100 health score weighted over the factors your hardware can report, a Theil–Sen degradation trend, and a 90-day projection.
Power draw
Live current, voltage and wattage with min / max / average over a window you choose, on synchronised charts. Current is always P ÷ V — calculated, never faked.
App usage
A ranked apportionment of the measured battery drain across your applications (AppEnergyV1), with the non-attributable baseline shown separately and every figure badged Estimated.
Runtime estimate
Time remaining split by screen-on and screen-off use, with a confidence tier. Below the data floor it says “Calculating…”, never a number it can't stand behind.
Temperature
Per-band time breakdown and threshold events — where a sensor exists. Many laptops have none; the app tells you and collects nothing rather than substituting CPU temperature.
Sessions & history
Every charge and discharge session on a merged timeline of screen, lock and sleep events — correct across sleep/resume and restarts. Charts from 24 hours to a year, plus CSV / JSON export.
Alerts & insights
Configurable alerts with Windows toasts, an in-app centre and spoken voice alerts when the battery is full or needs the charger, plus confidence-gated, rule-based insights that only appear when the effect is bigger than the noise.
Diagnostics
A live capability matrix showing exactly which readings your machine supports and where each figure comes from, per-subsystem health, a log viewer and one-click “Copy report”.
Light on resources
Adaptive sampling quiets the app when the screen is off, samples finer below 20%, and stops entirely when paused — so watching your battery doesn't drain it.
How it works
No driver, no service, no elevation. Just standard Windows interfaces.
Reads your hardware directly
Battery data from the ACPI / power-management interfaces, system power and screen state, and the process list for app attribution — all without administrator rights.
Stores everything locally
One SQLite database in %LocalAppData%\BatteryIntelligence.
You set retention, and you can export or wipe all history from Settings
at any time.
Never talks to the internet
The app makes no network requests of any kind — no account, no cloud, no telemetry, no update check. You can verify it in the source.
Install
A single self-contained installer. Nothing else to set up.
- Windows 10 (build 1809 / 17763) or Windows 11, 64-bit
- No .NET, no Windows App Runtime, no other prerequisite — it's all bundled
- Installs for all users (one administrator prompt); the app itself runs without elevation
- Appears in Control Panel and Settings → Apps like any normal program
- Your battery history is kept outside the install folder, so it survives upgrades and uninstalls
